Supporting our local Summerville businesses and fellow parents is something we’re really passionate about. That’s why we’re thrilled to share this local gift guide, put together with the help of many Summerville parents.

It’s split into three parts to make your holiday shopping easy: first, there’s a section for local vendors offering unique clothing, toys, games, and books; next, one for “experience” gifts—ideal for parents who’d rather give a memory than collect more stuff (especially for those tricky-to-shop-for teens!); and finally, a section with local vendors selling delicious, holiday-themed treats.

While we know there are plenty of other amazing businesses out there, we had to keep the list manageable, so we focused on a mix of vendors we know and some exciting new finds.

Bee City Zoo in Cottageville, SC, is a family-friendly zoo and honeybee farm where visitors can interact with a variety of animals. A zoo visit has many opportunities to interact with and feed monkeys, lemurs, kangaroos, birds, alpacas, giraffes, and many more. Over the holidays they have an amazing festival of lights in the evenings.
