🌴 Talucci's Bakery
Family-friendly bakery and coffee shop in Summerville, SC.
Talucci’s Bakery
Even though it just opened two weeks ago, we kept hearing about downtown Summerville’s newest Italian bakery and coffee shop, Talucci’s. We had to go try it for ourselves and I have to say we definitely understand the hype.
Summerville couple and owners Jaclyn and Charles renovated the space at 145 Central Ave. (previously Simple Treasures) to make it a charming and inviting venue to show off their European inspired pastries and chocolate (and coffee). You can find pastries like bagels, muffins, and croissants there in the morning and tiramisu, strawberry Italian cake, éclairs, cannolis, Lobster Tail, and Sfogliatelle in the afternoon. They also have fresh Italian cookies, breads, and gelato available for purchase.
Truly all the Italian goods you could ever desire. 🤤
When our family went, we enjoyed an everything bagel, blueberry muffin, and a gluten free chocolate muffin. Our toddler just keep exclaiming “MMMMM!” as he ate his muffin and as someone who is gluten free I was in heaven as I enjoyed my light and airy chocolate muffin (although 100% that was just eating dessert for breakfast… 😂). Daniel (a coffee snob) was throughly impressed with the drip coffee (their Italian take on a pour over).
Even though their shop is very busy and the owners are running on very little sleep, on her own initiative Jaclyn spent about ten minutes talking with us and here were a few things that impressed us about Talucci’s.
Jaclyn and her team spent two weeks doing barista training in Florence so they could provide an excellent Italian coffee experience to customers.
Charles is the owner but also the pastry chef for the bakery. He has extensive experience with baking and pastry. His father is an Italian Olympian chef and was Charles’ inspiration and mentor.
They have been so popular that they sold out their pastry items many days since opening, but are working hard to increase production by getting a second barista machine to
speed up production.
Charles and Jaclyn share eight kids between the two of them and it was clear that family is at the heart of their operation. It’s such a joy to have another family centered business with such a high quality of goods and operations join downtown Summerville!
We loved it so much that we went back the next day for more, then Daniel wrote this Facebook review (lolllllll)
Keep an eye out for their special menus for Thanksgiving and Christmas this holiday season. And if you’re looking to buy in bulk, just give them a week’s notice so they can accommodate your order.
